Given the extreme rarity of this item, these minor imperfections do not affect the value and the item still displays extremely well. Here's your chance to own one of the rarest modern day Willie Mays items in existence. We have owned this item for over a decade, waiting for another example to be offered for sale so we could set a fair price. Over that span we have not seen a single example offered for sale. The photograph itself is very intriguing given the markings and label on the reverse. Of course what makes this item extremely rare and valuable is Willie Mays inscription The Catch. " While he has been known to inscribe items on rare occasions, he almost never inscribes an item "The Catch and we aren't sure anyone knows exactly why, which only adds to the mystery. The only known signing during which Willie agreed to use this rare inscription was over two decades ago. The story goes that he agreed to inscribe an extremely small number of items with "The Catch" and then for an unknown reason Willie stopped the signing short. It is believed he inscribed less than 100 items with this inscription and nobody knows how many of those made it to the open market. Out of those 100, who knows how many have survived the past two decades. All we know is we have not seen another example offered on the open market in over a decade.

On an item this rare it is very difficult to place a fair value. If anyone has any information on this piece, please feel free to pass along you knowledge.
